Hi, how nice of you to stop by!
You are here because you love to be original. You appreciate unique pieces of art; the work, skill and love that goes into every hand-made product. Have you ever been asked: “Where did you get this?” and you knew that THIS was a one-of-a-kind, may be even a custom order. You can easily give the answer of where this came from, but you will also know that there won’t be another like yours.
My name is Annette. I love to create beautiful things. I design and hand create usable art mostly out of wool fiber, but any natural material will do. I often like to incorporate silk, leather, beads or even wood into my creations, but wool is always the main “ingredient”.
I have been taught to knit, crochet and make things at an early age and it has remained a big part of my life. In school I knitted socks, hats, and mittens, sewed aprons and napkins and later when I married I sewed my own wedding dress. This was not my idea at first, but it was a requirement that my mother threw at me. To this day, I am convinced it was a test to see if I’d give up on getting married (I was 17). Nice try mom!
I have been married for 32 years this year (2015) and have been blessed with a man that supports me and my love for fiber, as I support his passion for photography. He is the professional photographer behind Flying Monkey Photography.
We have 3 wonderful, passionate, creative children. We also have 4 awesome grandchildren, two boys, and two girls. It is fun to see how their parents are facing the same challenges and rewards that Kim and I faced with them. I am thankful that I get to experience this!
I created toys and wearables for my own children, friends and family and later for my grandchildren. I have been selling my creations online since 2006. I have created many dolls, hobby horses, wall-hangings, wearables and decor for children and adults alike. When my daughter and her husband deployed to Iraq in 2011, I took a sabbatical to care for my grandchildren.
Ever since I have wanted to grow, but wasn’t quite sure how or in what direction. I have always loved decorating and designing, I knew this to continue to be a big part in my life.
Now I think I found a way to continue to make things, but also share my knowledge. I will be offering courses in doll making (to get started) and created a website just for it. Please visit Hands Create to learn more.
I look forward to creating hand-made, one of a kind accessories out of wool fiber and other natural materials for brides and grooms, their families and friends, children and adults. If you would like to learn how to create a Ringalina Doll I would love to teach you.
If you can think of anything you would like custom made, please don’t hesitate to send me an email. Let’s work together!
